01. Quizzes

How to create a quiz

Quizzes are the foundation of Evalis. From each quiz you can later launch a room, print the content, or reuse it for another session.

1

Open My Quizzes

Go to My Quizzes from the sidebar or dashboard. This page shows all quizzes in your workspace and lets you create a new one.

2

Create the quiz shell

Use Create Quiz to add a title and description. This gives you the main quiz structure before you start writing questions.

3

Add questions and answers

Inside the quiz builder, add your questions and answer options. This is where you define the content participants will see during the live room.

4

Use the Options menu

Once the quiz is ready, use Options to view it, edit it, delete it, or open Print to PDF for a printable version.

What My Quizzes shows
Your total quizzes, total questions, and how often your quizzes have been launched in rooms.
What you can do there
Create a quiz, open it, edit it, delete it, print it as a PDF, or launch a room from it.
Why this matters
A clear quiz library makes it easier to repeat sessions, share materials, and launch live activities faster.
02. Rooms

How to configure a room

A room is the play version of a quiz. Before you go live, you first choose how that room should behave for both host and players.

1

Start from a quiz

On My Quizzes or on the quiz page, choose Start Room. You will first arrive on the room settings page.

2

Choose your play mode

There you choose between live and self-paced. In live mode the host controls the pace. In self-paced mode every player completes the quiz at their own speed once the host starts.

3

Set your options

You can choose whether to require results before the next question, set a timer per question, set a total quiz timer, shuffle answers, and decide whether players should see the correct answers at the end.

4

Open the host page

After saving, Evalis creates the room with a unique room code and status waiting. From the host page you can view the join link, QR code, and selected settings.

What My Rooms shows
Your room list, statuses, modes, player counts, creation times, and quick management actions.
What you can do there
Open a room, close it, reopen it, delete a single room, or bulk delete multiple selected rooms.
Useful note
Participants can join a room without creating an account. They only need the room code and their name.
03. Live Session

How live and self-paced rooms work

The host controls the room from the host console while participants stay on the player page. Depending on the chosen mode, everyone moves together or each player progresses independently through the quiz.

W
Waiting
The room has been created, but the quiz has not started yet. Participants can already join and wait on the player page until you press Start Quiz.
L
Live mode
In live mode the host controls the pace. You can set a timer per question, show results before continuing, and manually move everyone to the next question.
S
Self-paced mode
In self-paced mode each player completes the quiz independently after the host starts the room. You can combine that with a per-question timer and a total quiz timer.
P
Paused
During an active quiz the host can pause and later resume the session. While paused, players see a message and timers stop counting down.
F
Finished
After the last question, or when all self-paced players are done, the room moves to finished. The host can then review the final results and close the room.
What the host can see and do
Share the QR code and join link, start the quiz, pause and resume it, monitor timers, review settings, show results in live mode, and track player progress in both modes.
What participants experience
Participants join with their name, wait for the quiz to begin, and answer on the player page. In live mode everyone stays in sync; in self-paced mode each player moves through the quiz independently.
04. Profile

What you can do on the profile page

The profile page is your account settings area. It is where you manage your personal details, language preference, and account security.

Update your profile details
You can change your name and email address so your account information stays current.
Choose your language
You can switch between Dutch and English so the full Evalis interface matches your preferred language.
Change your password
Use the password form to replace your current password with a new one and keep your account secure.
Delete account
If needed, the profile page also includes a delete account section. This is a permanent action and requires your password for confirmation.
